My Story
Lecourtois Couture Story
For years I have tried to find a catchy-modern-easy to pronounce name for my "Label". As I went to Fashion School in Montreal (graduated in 1998) label names were quite a topic. Time passed, I gained valuable experience in different roles in Montreal and New Zealand.( I Arrived in 2004 ).Then it finally happened. I started creating and selling, so I needed a name. Still nothing really stick.
I went for the classic." Lecourtois " is my last name, it means the courteous and "Couture" is what I do. It's not catchy, but it's me.
I now have my studio in beautiful Raglan. I offer bespoke creations and alterations services, as well as having my label made to measure. I recently started to sell my collection of merino garments here on my website. There will be more collections to come. Summer linens and silks, just to name a few.
My creations are a mix of city life meets seaside town. They are elegant, versatile and comfortable. Everything I am looking for in a garment myself. I choose clean classic lines and select soft and luxurious natural fibres that breathes. Better for us and the environment. Time and care is also taken without hesitation, for each garment is individually traced, hand cut, sewn and press.
It is an honour and with lots of joy that I serve the art of "tailoring" to help my client feel beautiful and do my share to slow this very fast pace world.
